Phil Hart
Phil Hart, a reservation agent, age 63, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Shands in Gainesville. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island. Coming from Miami, Fl., he had lived in Mayo since 1982. Mr. Hart was a member of the First Assembly of Mayo, and was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Lafayette Democratic Committee and previously worked for the Department of Corrections for 18 years, attaining rank of Sgt. He was in the Choir at church and involved with the youth missions and ministry. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip John Hart, Jr. and is survived by his mother, Doris V. Hart, of Homestead, Fl.
Survived by his wife of 20 years, Teresa Hart, of Mayo, Fl.
Other survivors include; (3) daughters; Tammy Hart, Sandra Hart, and Crystal Hart, special sisters; Nancy D’Azevado, of Greenville, SC, Angela Praytor, of Raiford, Fl., Christina Hamlin, of Macon, Ga., Father-in-law, Roger Webb, of Perry, Fl., and his Aunt, Barbara Coulthurst, of Mayo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Assembly of God in Mayo, Youth Van Fund.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at the First Assembly of God Church in Mayo, with Bro. David Stephens and Bro. Mike Ryals, officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Family received friends on Tuesday, from 12 – 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Mayo handled all the arrangements.
