Mr. James Lee Dunaway
Mr. James Lee Dunaway, Jr., 81 of Jasper, FL, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at the V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. A native of Molino, FL, Mr. Dunaway has lived in Jasper for the last four years moving there from Ormond Beach. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jasper. Mr. Dunaway was veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII in the European Campaign where he received a purple heart, a bronze star, and 2 oak leaf clusters. He was an educator and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors in his spare time. Mr. Dunaway was predeceased by a daughter Marcia Lynn Dunaway.
He is survived by, his wife of 54 years, Frances D. Dunaway, Jasper, FL; a son Micahle Lee Dunaway (Kathy) of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Frances Ann Chewning (Joseph) of Crystal River, FL and Rosemary McLeod (Spike) of Jasper, FL; a brother, Glen Dunaway, of Molino, FL; 3 sisters, Hazel Lee Francis of Alachua, FL, Una Dean, of Modesto, CA, and twin sister, Jewel Charlton, of Felda, FL; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 19, 2004 in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in Jasper. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Lake City. In lieu of flowers all donations should be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of North Central Florida.

Wayne Davis Robinson
Wayne Davis Robinson, age 64, of Jasper, FL passed away Friday, August 13, 2004 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Wayne was born in North Pelham, New York on February 28, 1940 to Franklin and Estelle Robinson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Robinson lived and worked in Augusta, GA as a master carpenter for 35 years and continued that line of work when he moved to Hamilton County in 1995. He was a Minister of the Gospel, witnessing and often supplying in churches in Hamilton and surrounding counties. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jasper and was gifted with a special ability to work with the youth of the church and community. Wayne was a beloved son, brother and uncle.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Pat Robinson, Jasper; his mother Estelle May Robinson, Tampa, FL; two brothers, Artie Robinson (Gail), Tampa, FL and Tim Robinson, Spindale, NC; one sister, Pamela Smith (Bob), Baldwin, FL; seven nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Florida Baptist Children’s Home 8415 Buck Lake Road, Tallahassee, FL 32317. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lula Tomlinson Strickland
Lula Tomlinson Strickland, age 94, of Statenville, GA passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 at her home. Mrs. Strickland was born March 10, 1910 to the late Benjamin and Luther Howell Tomlinson. She was a homemaker and seamstress and was a former employee of the Echols County School System where she worked in the lunchroom. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Statenville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Strickland in 1978.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lavon and Pat Strickland; on daughter and son-in-law, Jewell and Garland Carter, all of Statenville; two brothers, L.M. Tomlinson, Bemiss, GA. and J.D. Tomlinson, Mayday, GA; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 13 at Statenville Baptist Church with Pastor Ted Sauls officiating, assisted by Rev. Wayne Boykin and Rev. Larry Lane. Interment followed in Wayfare Cemetery. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
