Ella Mae Darling

Ella Mae Darling, 82, a resident of Live Oak, passed away August 12, 2004, in the Suwannee Health Care Center. She was a member of Sweet Hope Baptist Church and a beautician for many years in Live Oak.



Survivors include her children, James Darling and Irene of Ft. Lauderdale, John Darling and Elaine of Live Oak, Ella Lee Darling, Gloria Presley and Henry of Live Oak, Diane Darling Morris and Mark, Rosalie Darling and Kenneth Darling; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; and many other close relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, in the Sweet Hope Baptist Church in Live Oak with the Rev. H. Boone, pastor, officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 20, in the Sweet Hope Baptist Church.



Burial will be in the Rockcut Cemetery.



D.M. UDell Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.



Eva Mercer



Eva Mercer, 96, of Live Oak, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2004, in the Good Samaritan Center, Dowling Park, after a long illness. The Havana native moved to Live Oak in 1926, was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Sink Baptist Church.



Survivors include one daughter, Betty LeDue, Jacksonville; three sons, Edwin E. Mercer and Grady L. Mercer, both of Live Oak and Virgil Ray Mercer, Jacksonville; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., today, Friday, Aug. 20, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Quincy Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.



Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak is in charge of all arrangements.



Vivian Greene Nolan



Vivian Greene Nolan, 78, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2004. She was born in Perrine and moved to Gainesville from the Live Oak area in 1957. Nolan was a retired administrative assistant for the University of Florida Center for Latin American Studies. She attended Florida State College for Women, now Florida State University, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Gainesville, where she volunteered in the office. Nolan was also a member of the United Methodist Women.



She was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Nolan.



Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Nolan Denny and Kathryn Nolan Post, both of Gainesville; a brother, R.A. Greene of Live Oak; a sister, Norma Stewart of Lake City; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m., Aug. 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial was at Forest Meadows-Central, Gainesville.
