Obituaries for Suwannee Democrat April 2, 2003



Ceva Sikes



Ceva Sikes, 83, of O’Brien, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003 in the Lake City Medical Center after a short illness. The Suwannee County native was a homemaker and a member of Fort White Church of Christ.



Mrs. Sikes is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.



Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Burlington Santa Fe Church of Christ, Branford, with Mr. Charles Blackwelder and Mr. John Futrell Officiating. Interment will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery, Branford.



Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of all arrangements.





Milburn W. Wilhelm



Milburn W. Wilhelm, 83, of Live Oak, Fla. died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 in Lake City Medical Center.



Wilhelm was formerly of Camden, Tenn., but made his home in Live Oak, Fla. Wilhelm was a retired maintenance supervisor, a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Clayland Baptist Church in Live Oak, Fla.



He is preceded in death by his wife, Vernelle Hoskins Wilhelm; his parents, Albert Wilhelm and Janie Watson Wilhelm; three sisters, Zula Lockhart, Clara Bain and Pauline Wilhelm; and two brothers, Leo and Willard Wilhelm.



Survivors include: one daughter, Carol Joy Reyes of Lake City, Fla.; one son, Ronald Scott Wilhelm of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Maurine McIver of Camden, Tenn.; and one brother, Lindel Wilhelm of Camden, Tenn.



Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Camden, Tenn. with Brother Leonard Greer officiating. Wilhelm was laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Camden, Tenn.



Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Camden, Tenn. was in charge of all arrangements.





Essie M. Williams



Mrs. Essie M. Williams, a resident of Live Oak, Fla., passed away March 30, 2003 in the Lake City Medical Center.



She is survived by: her husband, Mr. Eddie Williams; one daughter, Liza Christain; five grands, four great-grands and may other close relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Mrs. Essie M. Williams will be Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Rock Cut Cemetery in Live Oak, Fla.



Viewing for the family and friends will be Friday, April 4, 2003 at 6 p.m. at the D.M. Udell Funeral Home.

Essie M. Williams

Mrs. Essie M. Williams, a resident of Live Oak, Fla., passed away March 30, 2003 in the Lake City Medical Center.



She is survived by her husband, Eddie Williams; one daughter, Liza Christain; five grands, four great-grands and may other close relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Essie M. Williams will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003 in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Rock Cut Cemetery in Live Oak, Fla.



Viewing for family and friends will be Friday, April 4, 2003 at 6 p.m. at the D.M. Udell Funeral Home.

Edith Sistrunk Crews

Edith Sistrunk Crews, 89, of Live Oak, Fla. died April 3, 2003 at her home following a brief illness.

Edith was born in Lake City, Fla. In 1933 she married her high school sweetheart, L.M. Crews Jr., and moved to Live Oak. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church for 65 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Live Oak Garden Club, past president of the Live Oak Woman’s Club, Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 107 of Live Oak.



She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Crews Elliott, wife of Paul Elliott of Geneva, Fla. and Diane Crews Walker, wife of Nick Walker of Madison, Fla.; one son, Lee Crews and wife Connie of Gainesville, Fla. 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.



Visitation will be Friday, April 4 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Daniels Funeral Home in Live Oak, Fla.



Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Live Oak with message by Dr. Craig Moore, pastor of First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetary.



In lieu of flowers, it is the wish of the family donations be made to Hospice of Suwannee Valley, 1900 FL Gateway Center Blvd., Lake City, FL 32024 or First United Methodist Church, Edith Crews Memorial Fund, 311 Ohio Avenue South, Live Oak, FL 32064.

Janie Johns

Janie Johns, 95, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in her home.



She was a homemaker, a member of Eastern Star Suwannee Chapter, the Garden Club and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Wellborn, Fla.



She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mavis Johns, Live Oak, Fla.; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wellborn, with the Rev. Lewis Gooch and Mr. Stanley Cribbs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Sharon “Sissy” Condy



Sharon “Sissy” Condy, 55, of Live Oak, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003 in her home after a long illness. The Cardwell, Missouri native was born July 23, 1947 and moved to Live Oak from Immokalee, Fl. in 1983, was a homemaker and member of Luraville Baptist Church.



Survivors include her mother: Viola Crossno, Live Oak, Fl; Two daughters: Tamala “Tammy” (Adolfo) Cruz, Branford, Fl, and Pamela “Pam” (Gregory) Turner, Pensacola, Fl; Two sons: James “Mike” (Lisa) Frazier and Geoffrey “Tiger” (Jo Anna) Condy, both of Luraville, Fl; Five brothers: Garry Crossno, Immokalee, Fl, Arlin Crossno, Felda, Al, Steve and Arnold Crossno both of Luraville, and Roger Crossno, O’Brien, Fl; Ten grandchildren.



Graveside services were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003 at Live Oak Cemetery, with Rev. Tom Bankston and Rev. Charlie Walker officiating.
