Fred Daniel Purdy

Fred Daniel Purdy, 62, of Crestview passed away Friday, July 30, 2004, at his residence. The Lake City native lived in Crestview for the past 25 years. He retired from the US Army following 20 years of service.



Survivors include his wife Sandra L. Purdy, Crestview; his mother, Lillie Mae Purdy, Jacksonville; six children, Gregory Purdy, San Diego, CA, Laurent (Jennie) Purdy, Charlotte, TN, Daniel (Renee) Purdy, Bolling Green, KY, Jerry (Tammi) Gibson, Arley, AL, Joseph Gibson, Fort Walton Beach, and Rhonda (Mitchell) Hyatt, Arley, AL; two brothers, Gene Purdy, Jasper and Ronnie Purdy, Hilliard; three sisters, Elizabeth Rivera, Jacksonville, Georgia Keast, Sanderson, and Glenda Hill, Callahan; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 3, 2004, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Wyatt and Rev. Steve Dubose officiating. Mr. Laurent Purdy gave the Eulogy. Interment followed in Hebron Cemetery, Jasper, with full military honors.

Wayne Howard Golish



Wayne Howard Golish, 46, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004, at his home. He moved to Jasper from Covington, GA. Mr. Golish was a truck driver.



Survivors include his son, Brandon Golish; two daughters, Brittany Golish and Danielle Polo; his mother and step-father, Rosalind and William Sherrod; his father, Richard Golish; two brothers, Jerry Golish and Tony Truax.



Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Abbott and Rev. Timmy Dyke officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Becky Elaine Mixon



B ecky Elaine Mixon, 48, of Jasper, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004, at Trinity Community Hospital in Jasper from complications of diabetes. She was born in Jacksonville on November 13, 1955, to Lamar and Sally Roberson Mixon. Ms. Mixon was a retired nurse and was a member of the Jasper Advent Christian Church. She was precede in death by her grandfather, George L. Roberson.



Survivors include her mother and step-father, Lillian “Sally” and Paul Dodge, Jasper; her father and step-mother, Lamar and Betty Mixon, Jacksonville; three sisters and brothers-in -law, Gail and Stan Meyer , Charlotte, NC, Nancy and John Thornton, Green Cove Springs and Marlene and Phil Buckner, Jacksonville; her grandmother, Jimmie Ratliff, Jasper; five nieces and nephews, Ona, Justin, Kim, Deborah and Cary; two uncles, George Lamar Roberson and William Roberson, both of Jasper. Several cousins and other relatives also survive.



Services were held Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Advent Christian Church with Rev. Fran Wood and Rev. Lester Curry officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
