Nancy Carter Bass
Nancy Carter Bass, 80, of Live Oak, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in her home after a long illness. The Meriden, Conn. native moved to Live Oak in 1947 and retired after 27 years as a clerk in the ASCS office in Live Oak, was a supporter of Suwannee High Athletics, Future Farmers of America, Senior Citizens, Live Oak, Friends of the Theater Suwannee High School, Live Oak Garden Club, charter member of the Live Oak Woman’s Club and a member of First Advent Christian Church in Live Oak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis A. Bass and sister, Barbara Grace Carter.
Survivors include: one daughter, Betsy (Vernon) Byrd, Live Oak; two sons, Carter (Vickie) Bass and Stevan (Janet) Bass, both of Live Oak; six grandchildren, Stacey (Donnie) Bullock, Brad (Amy) Byrd, Laura Katherine Bass, Forrest Bass, Emily Bass and Celia Bass; four great-grandchildren, Jason Bullock, Rachael Bullock, Alexis Byrd and Leigh-Anna Byrd; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15, at the First Advent Christian Church, Live Oak with the Rev. Tim Carver officiating. Interment followed in Macedonia Cemetery, Live Oak.

Bessie Skeen
Bessie Skeen, 85, of Live Oak, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2004 in the Lake City Medical Center after a long illness. She was born in White Springs, lived in Live Oak all her life and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, Live Oak.
Survivors include: two daughters: Sharon (John) Binkley, Plano, Texas and Vesta Skeen, Live Oak; four sisters, Sadie Hunter, Lake Mary, Maxine Ratliff, Jesup, Ga., Martha Bondi, White Springs and Ruby Cleary, Hudson; one brother, Lewis Walker, Hudson; one grandson, Ryan Binkley; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Catherin and Zoe.
Funeral Services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, at Westwood Baptist Church with Mr. John Binkley and Mr. Ryan Binkley officiating. Interment followed in Live Oak Cemeter.

William Thomas Wayman
William Thomas Wayman, 95, of Live Oak, passed away, Friday, May 14, 2004 in the Lake City Extended Care Center, Lake City, after a long illness. The Jefferson, N.C. native moved to Live Oak from Tampa in 1975, was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Live Oak Church of the Nazarene and an appliance and air conditioner dealer.
Survivors include: two sons, Arthur and Ronald Wayman, both of Tampa; one daughter, Vivian Norieago, Tampa; one brother, Ray Wayman, Cape Coral; one sister, Cordelia Doehring, Live Oak; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, at Daniels Memorial Chapel, Live Oak, with the Rev. Theon Burt officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 19, in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon.

Jerry Young
Jerry Young, 28, of Live Oak, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 in Shands at Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City, after a long illness. He was born in Anderson, Ind. and lived in Live Oak most of his life.
Survivors include: his parents, Donald and Sylvia Young; one brother, Jimmy Lee Young; maternal grandparents, Barbara Stidham, Live Oak; Billy Gene and Jean Bricker, Anderson, Ind.; paternal grandparents, Chester and Gloria Young, Live Oak; and maternal great-grandparents, Ray and Ida Atwell, Live Oak.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2004 at Rocky Sink Baptist Church, Live Oak with the Rev. J.H. Brown officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Ceyron L. Gill
Ceyron L. Gill, 79, of Locust Grove Road, in the Stecoah community, Robbinsville, N.C., went home with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at his residence. He was a native of Alton and the son of the late Martin Luther and F. Alma Jones Gill.
Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Betsy Wing Gill; son, Jonathan L. Gill of Pensacola; daughter-in-law, Melissa and John H. Patterson of Pensacola; brothers, Leamon H. Gill, Randall Gill both of Live Oak; David P Gill of Anthony; sister, Wannie Mae Williams of Live Oak; and three grandchildren, Eric Patterson, Shawn Patterson and MacLean Gill.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 10, at the Hazie Brown Cemetery in Stecoah. The Rev. G.D. Phillips officiated.

Essie Ree Bass
Essie Ree Bass, 82, of Live Oak, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2004, in the Suwannee Health Care Center, Live Oak. The Meeks, Ga. native resided in Live Oak. She was a supervisor for Kmart of Live Oak for 10 years and was a member of the Live Oak Christian Church.
Survivors include: her three daughters, Gloria Scott, Live Oak, Jane Riggins, Tallahassee and Cindy Lieupo, Live Oak; one sister, Gale Grant, Kite, Ga.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Reece Bass.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, at the Macedonia Cemetery, Live Oak, with the Rev. Martin M. Honchalk officiating.
