Evelyn Jenkins Rowe

Evelyn Jenkins Rowe, 76, of Valdosta, Ga., died Thursday, July 8, 2004. “I’ve lived this life, I love you all. I did all that I could do; I’m resting now, in peace with the Lord, but my spirit shall always be with you. the love I had for each of you, even death can’t take it apart. For I took that love long with me embedded in my heart.” Mrs. Rowe was born on September 10, 1927 in Greensboro, GA. to the late Raymond H. and Estelle Rich Thornton Jenkins. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.



Mrs. Rowe is survived by one daughter and son in law, Wanda and Cal Calender of Sylacauga, AL., two sons and daughters in law, Gary C. and Vicki Rowe of Valdosta, GA. and Bryan and Carol Rowe of Jennings, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one sister, Ruth McMillan of Valdosta, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Hall Rowe and one son, John Hall Rowe, Jr.



Graveside funeral services were held on Monday, July 12, 2004 in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Reverent Jeff Cordero officiating. Burial followed.



Carson McLane Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.



Linwood Walter Mallard



Linwood Walter Mallard, 84, of Jennings, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Lake City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mallard was born on August 1, 1919 to the late Grady and Winnie Mallard. He was a retired G. T. E. supervisor in Lakeland, before retiring an moving to the Jennings area seven and a half years ago. Mr. Mallard attended Burnham Christian Church.



Survivors include his wife, Betty Mallard; two sons, Donald Mallard, Jennings and John Mallard (Sandra), Mascot, TN; one brother, Alvin Mallard, Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Lucille Andrews and Catherine Rhyne, both of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, July 9 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Pastor Avery Kelly officiating.



Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
