Ralph E. “Buck” Buchanan
Ralph E. “Buck” Buchanan, 81, of Live Oak, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004 in the Lake City Dialysis Center after a long illness. The Shelby County, Ind. native moved to Live Oak from Fort Lauderdale in 1990, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, retired after 10 years as a house parent for Sheridan House Ministries in Fort Lauderdale and worked for Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Shelbyville, Ind. and Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton for 25 years as a parts manager. He was a member of the following organizations: Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Live Oak. Buchanan loved baseball and pitched fast-pitch softball.
Survivors include: his wife, Jacqualyn Buchanan, Live Oak; two sons, Duane and Mary Buchanan, Dahlonega, Ga. and James and Joann Buchanan, Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Virginia Debaun, Savannah, Ga.; three half-sisters, Shirley Swanson, Lou Ellen Theobold and Joyce Schacht, all of Shelbyville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren in Bradenton.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 9 at Daniels Memorial Chapel;, Live Oak, with the Rev. Bobby McCray officiating. Interment was at noon, Friday, July 9, at Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery, Ellenton with military honors.

Aubrey Wetherington
Aubrey Wetherington, 64, of Live Oak, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004, in his home after a long illness. The Miami native moved to Live Oak nine years ago from Denver, Colo. He retired after 20 years from the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, was chairman of veterans affairs in the Live Oak Elks Lodge and was of Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife of 17 years, Judy Wetherington, Live Oak; his mother, Louise Wetherington, Hahira, Ga.; one daughter, Cynthia Gauge, Mayo; Scott Wetherington, Hahira, Ga.; two step-daughters, Tamara and Jonathan Brigman, Denver, Colo. and Cheryl and Joseph Richards, Live Oak; one step-son, Eddie and Nathalie Slane, McAlpin; one sister, Gail and Robert Quinet, Marietta, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, James Wetherington.
Daniels Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
J. Marion Dishman
J. Marion Dishman, 84, of Dowling Park, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in Shands at Alachua General Hospital, Gainesville, after a brief illness. The Fort Lee, N.J. native moved to Dowling Park from Port Richey a month ago, was a department store sales clerk and was of Protestant faith.
Survivors include: her husband, James Dishman, Dowling Park; three daughters, Lois Goines, Dowling Park, Laura Emmert, St. Petersburg and Susan Rockfield, Tampa; three sons, Dennis Burden, Blue Ridge, Ga., James N. Dishman Jr., Tarpon Springs; and David Dishman, Dowling Park; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 17, at Hatchbend Apostolic Church, Branford with the Rev. Steve Boyd officiating.
