Alice A. Haney
Alice A. Haney, 89, of Live Oak, passed away Monday, August 2, 2004, in the Surrey Place, Live Oak after a long illness. The Fargo, Ga. native moved to Live Oak from Jacksonville 10 years ago, retired after 40 years as the owner /operator of Alice Haney School Bus Contractor in Jacksonville and was of Episcopal faith.
Survivors include: her son, James Whitney Haney Jr., Alpharetta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Whitney Haney, Julie Sullivan, David, Jeffery, Michael and John Haney; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Wes Haney Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Daniels Memorial Chapel, Live Oak, with the Rev. Lewis Gooch officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.

Carl E. Clay
Carl E. Clay, 74, of Wellborn, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004, in Shands at University of Florida, Gainesville, after a short illness. The Miami native moved to Wellborn 18 years ago, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a contractor and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Live Oak.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Clay, Wellborn; two daughters, Carla M. McClellan, San Mateo and Cathy Carlin, St. Augustine; one step-daughter, Denise King, Wellborn; two sons, Jimmy Clay and Darrel Clay, both of Live Oak; one step-son, Dale Perron, Jacksonville; two sisters, Vivian Henninger, Deland and Louise Felton, Cooper City; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. John Harrison officiating.
