Raymond Franklin Chessar, Jr.

Raymond Franklin Chesser, Jr., age 76, passed away, Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Doctors Memorial Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Taylor County. Mr. Chesser was a member of the Center Street Church of God, he served as a past Sunday School teacher, and Clerk, and was active in the church. He worked for Watkins for many years as a tool room clerk. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Freida Chesser, of Perry and preceded in death by a daughter, Deitra Noland, (2) grandchildren; Michael Davis and Ceria Noland.

Other survivors include; a son; Dwight Chesser and wife Rhonda, of Indianapolis, IN, a son-in-law; Tom Noland, of Chandler, AZ, a sister; Newana Williams, of Bainbridge, GA, sister-in-law; Fannette Chesser, (6) grandchildren; Brittanica Chesser, Brookelynn Chesser, Brianalise Chesser, Bryant Chesser, Jonathan Noland, and Tiffany Noland, a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Robert Kirkland and Bro. Jack McKinley, officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the Chapel.

Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry handled all of the arrangements.



Henry Garrison, Sr.

Henry Garrison, Sr, 76 of Hatch Bend, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005 in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. The Monette, Arkansas native moved to Hatch Bend from Blytheville, AR in 1983, retired after 22 years as Field Detachment Instructor in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict, was past Commander of Veterans of Foreign War Post, Blytheville, AR, and a member of the American Legion, Blytheville, AR. He worked at Aero Corp. in Lake City, for three years, was an avid member, supporter and secretary of the Hatch Bend Volunteer Fire Dept. He was feature article writer for the Branford News and the Mayo Free Press, was of Protestant Faith and loved playing his guitar.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Alice Garrison, Hatch Bend; four daughters; Lorie Crawford, Richmond, TX, Sheila Goodson, Sachse, TX, Pamela Nichols, Pensacola, and Anita Fletcher, Athens, GA; one son: Henry “Bud” Garrison, Jr., Hatch Bend; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

Graveside Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Hatch Bend Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Rev. George Dunn will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Florida Baptist Children’s Home, 8415 Buck Lake Road, Tallahassee, FL 32317.

Daniels Funeral Home of Branford was in charge of all arrangements.
