Robert Kenneth Mitchell

Robert Kenneth Mitchell, age 80, of Jasper, passed away early Sunday morning, August 29, 2004 following an extended illness. The Hamilton County native and lifelong resident was born on July 4, 1924 to the late W.S. and Annette Wetherington Mitchell. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mitchell retired as a Sergeant with the Florida Game Commission after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Jasper First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Georgia McDonald Mitchell, Jasper; four sons: Bill Mitchell, Jasper; Gene Mitchell, Woodbine, Georgia; Danny Mitchell, Jasper; Stephen Mitchell, Jasper; one daughter: Marchetta McClendon, Jennings; one brother: Shelton Mitchell, Albany, Georgia; one sister: Margaret Long, Ocala; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.



Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 31 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Avery Kelly officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
