Two arrest have been made in connection with several burglaries with more pending said Sheriff Carson McCall Tuesday morning.

Karl Kerr, 40, of Lafayette County was arrested on Monday, July 21 and is being held at the Lafayette County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He is charged with two counts of burglary with other charges pending according to the Sheriff.

Also arrested on Monday was Kerr’s girlfriend Gabrielle A. Lambert, 26, Live Oak. Lambert is charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputy Alan Ellis, assisted by Sheriff Carson McCall began an investigation into the burglaries after they received a call from Marvin Buchanan, July 13, reporting a burglary at his business Central Florida Land and Timber, Day. According to Buchanan several items were missing from the shop.

As Ellis continued the investigation he and the Sheriff learned that several burglaries were occurring and seemed to be connected.

On Monday morning, July 21, the jail received a call about 9 a.m. from Matt Buchanan reporting that the caretakers at Brewer Lake Baptist Church had discovered several electronic items missing from the church.

According to Ellis the burglary at the church took place sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night and before 9 a.m. the next morning.

With Kerr, who is on probation from previous charges and Lambert’s arrest, Ellis and McCall are continuing the investigation and have arrest affidavits for others who are also believed to be involved in the string of burglaries in Lafayette County.

Ellis said the items taken from Central Land and Timber as well as the property stolen from Brewer Lake Baptist Church have been recovered by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

McCall said other items were recovered that so far have not been reported stolen. If you discover missing items from your home or business, call 294-1222 for assistance.
