Sexual Assault Awareness Month

We would appreciate if you would use the following information in a public service announcement:
In Florida 1 in 9 women will be the victim of sexual assault. In 2003, over 12,000 sex offenses were reported to law enforcement.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time to focus attention on the devastating epidemic of sexual violence that plagues society. April 7 is Sexual Assault Awareness Day, a day to gather together to show support for children and adults impacted by sexual violence. The Rape. Talk About It. Prevent It. Campaign is intended to open the door for dialogue about the subject of rape.
The North Central Florida Sexual Assault Center in Lake City will be hosting Sexual Assault Awareness Day on April 7, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Olustee Park in downtown Lake City.
Please plan to attend and show your support. There will be entertainment, refreshments, children’s games, goody bags, literature, a children’s coloring contest, door prizes and much more.
