Suwannee softball beats Mayo in front of the students

The Lady Dogs took Mayo to the mat in front of the student body April 12. The final score was 11-4 with Katie Smith taking home the win.
Katie Smith pitched the entire game, giving up four singles, a double, two triples and no walks. Smith struck out 12.
Steph Starling went 1/3 with a single and an RBI.
Kate Townsend went 4/4, smacking a homerun and three singles. Townsend had one RBI and stole a base.
Jenna Jordan went 2/4 with a double, a single and three runs scored.
Katie Smith went 3/3, with a booming homerun, two singles, four RBI’s and two runs scored.
Kalie Baldwin came in and went 1/1, hitting a single.
Deanne Wainwright went 1/2 with a single, one run scored and an RBI.
Al Cash had one 1 base on balls, a sac bunt, scored one run and stole a base.
Lea Schenck scored a run and had an RBI.
George Foster scored a run.
Suwannee came away with 12 hits. Mayo had seven. Both teams made two errors
This win sent Suwannee’s record to 13 -5 overall and 8 -1 for the district.
Suwannee softball’s regular season is over. The girls head to Florida High for the district tournament next Monday, April 25-26. Go Lady Dogs!
