With accessing legal services and information becoming more difficult for residents in rural Florida, innovative solutions and new ideas must be implemented. In an effort to bring access to courts and legal assistance to the community, Three Rivers Legal Services, Inc. announces that visiting attorneys will be returning to Jasper on semi-regular basis.

Through a partnership with the North Florida Workforce Development Board, an attorney from Three Rivers Legal Services will be available to meet with Hamilton County residents. These intake sessions will occur on Thursdays by appointment only.

“It’s becoming more difficult for Hamilton County residents to travel to our Lake City office to have their legal needs met. Hence, we’re going to start coming to Jasper,” stated Rocky Cabagnot, Three Rivers Legal Services attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow.

Hamilton County residents must first be pre-screened for eligibility by calling the organization at 800-495-0039. Once the applicant is prescreened for eligibility, an appointment can be scheduled for the next available time an attorney returns to Jasper. The attorney will be meeting with Hamilton County residents in Room 9 in the Sandlin Building located at 204 NE First Street in Jasper on available Thursdays.

Additionally, to help Hamilton County residents learn more about their legal rights, Three Rivers Legal Services will be contributing its “Legal Aid” article for publication in the Jasper News on a semi-regular basis.
