A routine traffic stop by Deputy Marlon Padgett, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, on SR 53 Oct. 17 resulted in the arrest of James D. Jones, 32, of 4769 SW 65th Avenue, Bell.
According to the deputy’s report Jones was traveling southbound at 60 mph in a posted 35 mph zone when Padgett stopped him.
When asked for his driver license, Padgett said the defendant stated that his driver license was suspended. Padgett did a search of the 1996 Saturn driven by Jones and found drug paraphernalia concealed in the passenger floorboard.
Jones was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jones bonded out on $1500 cash bond Oct. 17.
