Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A routine traffic stop by Sgt. Alan Ellis, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) on September 3 lead to the arrest of Travis S. Calhoun, 25, 202 Lewis Avenue, Live Oak.
According to the LCSO report Ellis spotted the small silver car driven by Calhoun and clocked him going over the designated speed limit. The report said Ellis pulled the driver over and asked to do a search of the vehicle to which Calhoun agreed.
The search revealed that Calhoun was in possession of marijuana and cocaine, both illegal drugs.
Calhoun was arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Calhoun was released on a $10,000 bond September 4.
