JACKSONVILLE BEACH – Arthur Woodrow Wise, a resident of Jacksonville Beach, passed away Friday, May 2, 2003 at his home. He was 91. Mr. Wise was born December 27, 1911 in Jasper and with the exception of the last few years, lived his entire life in Jasper.



He was a registered pharmacist in the states of Georgia and Florida for over 60 years. He was the owner of Wise’s Drugstore for over 30 years, having bought the business from his father in the late 1930s.



Mr. Wise was instrumental in establishing the tobacco warehouses in Hamilton County and helped recruit many of the doctors who came to practice in Hamilton County. He was a member of the Florida Pharmaceutical Association and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper. See Obituary, Page 5A.
