Peppers, W. D. “Duke”
W. D. “Duke” Peppers, Sr., 68, of Live Oak passed away Monday December 19, 2005 in his home. The Suwannee County native was the owner/operator of Peppers and Moses Construction in Live Oak and Branford for fifty years. He was of Baptist faith and a member of the Florida National Guard 269th Engineer Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of Sweetwater Hunting Club in Fargo, Ga.
Survivors include, one daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Williams, Old Town; one son, Willey “Myrna) Peppers, Honolulu, Hawaii; his devoted girl friend, Audrey Wilder; Live Oak; four sisters, Lavelle Avery, Live Oak, Thelma Hingson, Waycross, Ga. Betty Sanders, Valdosta, Ga. and Barbara Owens of Lake City; three brother, Howard Milton Peppers, Jr. Cross City, Carlton Gilbert Peppers, Live Oak and Albert Steve Peppers, Crawfordville, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services were conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, December 22, at Westwood Baptist Church Live Oak with Dr. Jimmy Deas officiating. Interment followed in Macedonia Cemetery, Live Oak.
Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of all arrangements.
Samson, Kelvin A.
Kelvin A. Samson, 53, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 in North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville following a long illness.
The Dayton, Ohio native was born August 21, 1952 and moved to the Lake City area in 1987 from Jacksonville. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, an electrical pipe maker with Lamson and Sessions of High Springs, a member of the United Steel Workers of American Union #775, and a member of San Juan Catholic Mission of Branford.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Samson of Lake City; two daughters, Jennifer Marie and Keith Cowie of Lake City, Rebekah Suzanne Samson of Lake City; two sons, Christopher M. Samson of Lake City, Joshua M. Samson of Lake City; three sisters, Betty Bawidamann of Dayton, Ohio, Linda Minor of Waldorf, MD, Delores Clawson of Coahoma, TX; one brother, Charles Samson of Lakeland; an uncle, Jack Perry of Sylacauga, AL.; four grandchildren, Vinnie Samson, Rachel Samson, Keira Samson and Mercedes Samson.
Rosary services were conducted Monday evening December 26, 2005 at 7 p.m. in Daniels Memorial Chapel, Funeral mass was conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 11 a.m. in San Juan Catholic Mission with Father Edward Murphy officiating. Interment followed in Pugh’s Cemetery, Lake City. Visitation was held Monday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

White, Lillian “Lil” H.
Lillian “Lil” H. White, 78, passed away Friday December 23, 2005 at Shands of Live Oak, following a short illness.
The Orlando native was born November 24, 1927 and moved to the Branford area 13 years ago from Sarasota. She was dietitian at Riverview High School in Sarasota and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin C. White, Sr. of Branford; five daughters, Kimberly Young of Mayo, Alice Anderson of Branford, Margaret Overstreet of Lake City, Tracy Suggs of Branford, Sandra Hutchinson of Indiana; six sons Edwin Bookout of New York, Joseph Gilford of Bradenton, David White of Branford, George Yancey of Bradenton, Edwin White, Jr. of Tennessee, Terry White of Pensacola; 26 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive. She is predeceased in death by one son, Robert White.

Wimberley, Alan R.
Colonel Alan R. Wimberley, 59, of O’Brien passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2005 in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville following a lengthy illness due to complications with brain cancer.
The Daytona Beach native was born December 9, 1946 and moved to the O’Brien area 25 years ago from Orlando.
Mr. Wimberley served in the U. S. Marine Corp. He served eight years with the Orange County Sheriff’s department, Orlando and 22 years with the Florida Department of Corrections currently as chief Correctional officer with Columbia Correctional Institution. He was also a member of F.C.C.D. and the Hopeful Baptist Church, Lake City.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wimberley, of O’Brien; his mother, Allie Wimberley of Orlando; one daughter, Crystal Wimberley of Orlando; two sons, Scott and Tami Wimberley of Orlando, Bryan Greenhill of Sorrento; one sister, Bonita Dean of Orlando; two grandchildren, Megan and Austin Wimberley both of Orlando.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Hopeful Baptist Church in Lake City with Rev. Mark Cunningham, Sgt. Wes Kent and Mr. Randall Hewitt officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Resor, Pat
Pat Resor, 65, of Live Oak passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Suwannee County.
