VALDOSTA — Valdosta’s newest plumber has a lot to offer both new and experienced homeowners.

Mike Spuhler, owner of MS Plumbing, has a non-restricted license and is ready to serve the people of this area.

The master plumber hails from Wisconsin, bringing his wife, an avid golfer, 20 years experience and technology that many in Valdosta have not seen. He owned a practice while at his northern home for many years before becoming a state plumbing inspector.

His belief that people deserve quality service combined with his extensive experience and knowledge of plumbing are what he believes set him apart.

“I put the health and wellness of a customer first,” he explained.

MS Plumbing is a-Christian based company that provides a variety of services. From large jobs like new home, commercial and industrial construction to clogged pipes, Spuhler loves and practices every aspect of his career. Other services include sewer installation and repair, water heater installation, bathroom fixture repair, plumbing system remodeling, water softeners, diagnostics and more.

Spuhler will work with homeowners, contractors, property managers and anyone else who may need his services. All customers receive a warranty — one year for a new home installation and a minimum 30 days for other services.

He is waiting for the business to grow, but so far he has only received positive feedback from customers.

“When customers call, I don’t just go and remedy the symptom,” Spuhler said. “I diagnose the problem and treat it. I then explain it to the customer.”

His directness, honesty and quality may be what sends him repeat business and helps build the large, successful company he desires.

Q: Why did you move here?

A: In May, we moved here for the weather and really love it here. We’re not going back.

Q: What experience do you have?

A: I have a great deal of experience. The state of Wisconsin requires extensive training to be qualified. I’ve been an apprentice, owned my own company and even been an inspector for the state.

Q: Is this your first job here?

A: No, I worked for another local plumbing company.

Q: Why did you want to open MS Plumbing?

A: I had owned my own company in Wisconsin for so long, it was hard to make the change. I just wanted to be on my own again.

Q: Do you make emergency calls after hours?

A: Yes, if it is a true emergency.

Q: Are your rates competitive?

A: I don’t really know what other plumbers are charging, but my rates are certainly reasonable.

Q: Why did you become a plumber?

A: A friend owned a plumbing business and asked if I wanted a job. I tried it and loved it. It was a challenging job that allowed me to work with my hands.

Q: What do you love the most about your job?

A: I love getting to meet people.

Q: What goals do you have?

A: I would like to expand — move into an office and add more employees. I hope MS Plumbing becomes a thriving business with a good reputation that gives something back to this community.

Q: What should people know?

A: Their health comes first. I will protect their health and welfare in everything I do. All jobs will meet the Georgia state plumbing code. I’m straightforward and honest, providing quality work. My customers will get their money’s worth.
