Been looking for official information from Suwannee County and couldn’t find it on the Internet? Relax! Suwannee County Clerk of Court Kenneth says that as of Jan. 1 the Clerk’s Office is now officially online.

What does that mean for citizens? The county’s official records are now available online at the Clerk’s website at www.suwclerk.org. Anyone with Internet access can go to the website and click on official records and get busy finding out lots of “stuff,” like when circuit court is scheduled, how much does it cost to file a civil court case, are you still in line to serve as a juror and lots more.

The site doesn’t yet allow anyone to create a login password for special access. That will come later.

In 2002, the Florida Legislature passed a bill which requiring all clerks of court to convert most records recorded from Jan. 1, 1990 to digital images and make them available on the web. This process has been ongoing for about a year, but now it’s up and running, according to Dasher.

“My office has exceeded the requirements of Florida Statutes by converting records recorded since Jan. 1, 1983,” Dasher said.

Dasher’s office is converting documents dating back to April, 1978 to make them available online. It is anticipated the process will take from one to three business days from the date of recording to get those records available online, Dasher added.

Some personal information such as social security and driver’s license numbers and personal identification information has been blacked out as required by statute.

No court records are available at this time online. However, it is expected these will be available at a later date.

The records you view online are not official copies. However, you can use them for research. If you need an official copy of any record, just make note of the official record book and page of the document you need and call the Clerk’s Office recording department at 386-362-0555, or email Hattie Law at hattiel@suwclerk.org, to place your order.

Dasher said it’s always an honor to serve his constituents and if citizens need any additional information or assistance, they should call him at 386-362-0500.
