Charles LeRoy ‘Roy’ Lott
We regret to announce the passing of Charles LeRoy “Roy” Lott, age 59, of Donalsonville, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at the Donalsonville Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Corbin Hicks and Father Guy Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Longbridge Cemetery in Nashville at 2 p.m. A scriptural rosary will be offered during the 9 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 at the Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Donalsonville, Ga. On a later date, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, Iowa.
Mr. Lott was born in Moultrie on Dec. 21, 1945, to the late Samuel L. Lott and Ruth Lott. He attended schools in Moultrie and Albany, before graduating from Lowndes County High School (Valdosta) in 1966, where his classmates affectionately referred to him as “Big Daddy Roy Lott.” He was married to Mary Lu Melsh Cain on Dec. 2, 1989, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 2000 he was awarded a certificate in drafting from Bainbridge College. For 30 years, Mr. Lott was a pipefitter and welder with the BTJ Pipefitter Union, Local 368, in Albany, where he served as a past union president, now Local 72, Atlanta. He was on the Board of Directors of the Parkside Lake Association and served as past vice-president of the Lake Seminole Lion’s Club. He attended the Catholic Church of Incarnation in Donalsonville.
Mr. Lott leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary Lu Lott of Donalsonville, Ga. and Spillville, Iowa; his mother, Mrs. Mittie Ruth Lott of Donalsonville; a brother, Billy Joe Lott and his wife Judy of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Debbie Brown and her husband Steve of Valdosta; a niece, Stephanie Tam Lott; two nephews, Johnny Steven Brown and Samuel Paul Brown; many aunts and uncles; other family members; friends; Cole, Petunia and Scamp.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel L. Lott; a brother, Jerry Alvin Lott; a nephew, Kendall Blake Lott; and his mother-in-law, Helen Kovarik Melsh.
Active pallbearers will be Johnny and Paul Brown, Ray and David Bennett, Bruce Holman, and Dr. Roger Ivey. Honorary pallbearers will be Vic, Bill, Alan, and Steve Kovarik, Royce Pickern, and Mickey Wright.

Letha Mae Harrell O’Berry
Mrs. Letha Mae Harrell O’Berry, 80, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2004, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
A native of Atkinson County, she had lived in Clinch County for many years.
She was a member of the Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the Diary Queen. She was the daughter of the late George Wesley Harrell and Annie Florence Thigpen Harrell and was the widow of Lonnie John O’Berry. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Harrell and Lawrence Harrell.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law; Janice O. and Jim Lee, Cookeville, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law; Rev. George and Karleen O’Berry, Homerville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Annie Lee Pope, Sarah Bennett and Laura and Leonard Lewis, all of Douglas; one granddaughter; Shannon A. O’Berry, Homerville: two step-granddaughters and husbands; Amanda and Kevin Reed, Savannah, and Meredith and Freddy Torrez, St. Simons; two step-great-grandchildren; Lee and Luke Reed, Savannah; special friends, Alice and J.T. Altman, Angela Jones and Candy Burch, Homerville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services for Mrs. O’Berry will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at 3 p.m. from the Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. O’Berry will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. O’Berry will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.

Mary Francis Griner Bowlin
Mrs. Mary Francis Griner Bowlin, 68, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006 at a Lake City hospital.
Mrs. Bowlin was born in Cottondale, Fla., and had lived in Bay County for many years. She was Baptist by faith, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons, Bill E. Slaughter, Jr. and wife Cindy of Valdosta, Ga. and Bobby C. Slaughter and wife Melisa of Fountain, Fla.; a daughter, Pamela Mizzell of Jackson; a brother, Lester Griner of Lake City; and her grandsons, Cody Clayton Slaughter, Donald Edward Marshall, Scotty Chadwick Slaughter and wife Kerri and Joshua David Slaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Entombment will follow at the chapel of Love Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Robert Wesley Allen
Robert Wesley Allen, 57, of Satuma, Fla., and formerly of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, in Scranton, Pa., from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. He was born on June 11, 1948, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam, and was a truck driver for Bynum Transport.
Survivors include his mother, Lottie Swilley Null of Lakeland; sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Lenna Allen of Maryville, Tenn., Robert W. Allen III of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Fulton of Palm Coast, Fla., Holly and Jeff Clark of Quitman, Julie and Mike Gronning of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamla Jean and Randall Baden of Palatka, Fla., Darlene and Dave Darwick of Palm Coast, Fla., Rebecca and Jeff Ulrich of Valdosta and former loved ones, Carol Allen of Jacksonville and Jean Burker of Quitman. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wesley Allen, Sr.

Diana Lynn Turner
Mrs. Diana Lynn Turner, 54, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at the Holly Hill Care and Rehabilitation in Valdosta after an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late John and Ruby Keserauskis. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Turner.
She was born at Wauken Naval Base in Chicago, Il., but she had lived in Waycross for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Brooks United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Turner of Waycross; four daughters, Diane Griffin (husband Darrell) of Valdosta, Danielle Harrell (husband Ronny) of Waresboro, Jamie Ann Turner of Waycross and Jennifer Wilson (husband Michael) of Waycross; seven grandchilren, Logan Danielle Turner, Bryan Daniel Turner, Darren Wilson, Deseray Wilson, Gene Pfund IV, Cason Turner and Ronald Harrell; her mother-in-law, Donna Lee Turner of Waycross; a brother, Johnny Kererauskis of Belleville, Il.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.
