Juvenile arrested in recent shooting

Sheriff Harrell Reid said another arrest has been made in the robbery and shooting that occurred on Sunday, Jan. 29, at Munchie’s Pit Stop in Jasper. A juvenile was arrested on Feb. 1 and is being held at the Hamilton County Jail with bond set at $500,000, according to the arrest record.
Dwayne R. Jackson, 31, of 4375 SW CR 152, Jasper, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 31, according to Sheriff Reid. He was charged with attempted first degree murder with a firearm, two counts of kidnapping while armed with a firearm, robbery while armed with a firearm, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, revoking bond and failure to appear, according to the arrest record. He is being held on at the Hamilton County Jail with bond set at $1,000,000.
Pareshkumar (Perry) Trevedi, owner of Munchie’s Pit Stop, was shot and his wife, Geeta Trevedi, was beaten during a robbery at the store around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29.
“As of Monday, Mr. Trevedi is doing much better and they hope that he will be able to go home next week,” Sheriff Reid said.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to Sheriff Reid.
