Marcella Florence Emily Marr

Marcella Florence Emily Marr, (nee Haack), age 85, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2006, at Coquina Center, Ormond Beach, Florida. She was the devoted wife of the late Kenneth J. Marr, both originally from Algoma, Wisconsin, and residents of Jasper, Florida, since 1966. Marcella was the loving mother of five children, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. After relocating with her family to Jasper from Michigan, she developed many, long lasting friendships through her membership at the First United Methodist Church, the Jasper Women’s Club, her golfing companions and her neighbors. Marcella was a trained classical vocalist who sang in church choirs and on special occasions. A private family celebration of her life will be held on St. George Island, Florida, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Coast, 149 Ridgeway Ave., Suite 400, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114.



Alberta Mizella Cross

Alberta Mizella Cross of Jasper, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2006, at the E.T. York Care Center of Gainesville, Florida, after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Houston and Lillie Mizelle. Her husband, Charlie Cross, preceded her in death. Together, they had one daughter, Eunice Cross Cornelius. Alberta was converted at an early age at Spring Branch Baptist Church. She later connected with Greater Poplar Springs MB Church in Jasper. She is survived by her daughter, three brothers and three sisters and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Mizell Funeral Home, 365 NW Washington Street of Lake City, Florida 32055, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.



Elmer Alvin Spencer

Elmer Alvin Spencer, age 65, of Jasper, Florida, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia, following an extended illness. Mr. Spencer was born January 1, 1941 in Romeo, Michigan, to the late Clarence Erwin and Lela Eleanor Spencer. He worked for many years as a carpenter and electrician in the trailer construction industry. He moved to Jasper six years ago from Spring Hill, Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie Spencer of Jasper; his children: Travis, Darren, Rodney, Howard and Rodney Spencer, Kenneth Phillips, Corrina Jean Muff, Mickey Utter, Corrina, Darlene, Pam and Patty Ann Spencer; two sisters: Kay Caughel and Faith Ann Spencer; four grandchildren: Sharlene O’Donnell, Jason Anthony Wilbert, Travis and Cheyenne Phillips.

A celebration of his life will be held in the form of a private service at a later date.
