Barbara Ann Sparrow
Barbara Ann Sparrow, 54 of Hartford, Conn. died Feb. 23, 2006 in Columbus, Ohio. She began her life on Aug. 20, 1951 in Valdosta, Ga., the youngest child of the late Johnny Bernard and Maude Ruth Tucker. She graduated from Pinevale High school and went on to Southwestern Christian College. Barbara move to Connecticut in 1981 were she was a member of the Northside Church of Christ for 21 years. She relocated to Miami, Fla. in Aug. 2002 and placed her membership with the Pembroke Church of Christ.
Barbara was preceded in death by one brother Marvin Austin, a step mother Evelyn Tucker (Coffee), one sister Spring Thomas and two nieces, Brenda Daniels and Felicia Tucker.
She leaves to reflect on her life one daughter, Metiba Clark and a loving son-in-law Robert Clark; two precious grandchildren Atiya and Quincy Clark; three sisters: Jewel (Ernest) Daniels and Charlotte (Roy) Finch of Miami Fla., and Mary Tucker of Hartford, Conn. and five brothers: Varnie (Hattie) Tucker of South Windsor, Conn. and Robert (Mary) Tucker and Willie (Henrietta) Tucker of Dallas, Texas; Samuel (Edna) Austin and Clarence (Joy) Coffee of Miami , Fla. A special and dear friend Gail March; also many of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday March 11, 2006 at 12 p.m. at South Side Church of Christ, 1198 Statenville Road, Valdosta, GA 31601.

Nancy D. Cosby
Nancy D. Cosby, 77‚ (Nan), of Hahira passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006 at her daughter’s residence with family by her side. She was born on Sept. 8, 1928 in Florida to the late William and Flora Cloud. Mrs. Cosby enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired from the food industry and was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Deloris and W.J. Parker, Valdosta, Nancy Bolt, Tracy, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Kathie Culbreth, Carl and Cathy Parker, Kim and Jim Martin, David Dent, Tim Dent, Patrick Dent, Kimberly Parker; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Pastor Jean Jack and Pastor Doug Griner officiating. A private family committal service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2006 in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Sion William Carter, Jr.
Sion William Carter, Jr., 72 of Orlando, Fla. passed away Monday, March 6, 2006. He was born in Hahira, Ga. to Sion William and Marian Lott Carter, Sr.
He was an Air Force Pilot and graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.; and earned a Law Degree from Stetson Law School. He was a lifetime member of Sertoma. He began his career in law in 1963 with Giles, Hedrick and Robinson and practiced for 26 years with John L. Thomas in the law firm of Thomas and Carter.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carole Briner Carter; son, Sion William Carter MD and wife Kathy of Tampa, Fla.; daughter Jennifer Carter Carmichael and husband Bruce of Park City, Utah; son Andrew Berle Carter and wife Jennifer of Dacula, Ga.; sister Sara Jo Heslep of Titusville, Fla.; and grandchildren Gavin, Chelsea, Erin, Bethany, Christian and Allison.

Jean H. Bennett
Jean H. Bennett, 67 of Valdosta, died on Monday, March 6, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born on Dec. 7, 1938 in Macon, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Hudgins and Marion Rozar Palmer. She had worked as a title clerk for Langdale Ford and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors are daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and David Wade, Renee and Ken Busby all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Shalyn and Steve Holley, Casie and Andy Tabor, Jennifer and Steven Parrish, Kenny Busby; great-grandchildren, Tyler Holley, Caylie Tabor, Alexandra Parrish; sisters, Ann Palmer, Susan Prichard, Lisa Rozar; and brothers, Gerald Hudgins, Wayne Hudgins all of Macon. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Arthur W. Price.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Macon with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating.
