VSU students presenting papers at science academy meeting

VALDOSTA — Several undergraduate students at Valdosta State University are giving oral presentations of their research papers at the 83rd annual Georgia Academy of Science Meeting March 24-25, hosted by Georgia Perimeter College at Georgia Gwinnett College and Gwinnett University Center.

The students and their research papers are Karen Stewart, “Phytochemical Investigation of Thalassia Testudium;” Angela Kern, “Conductivity Mapping Using GIS and its Uses in Precision Farming;” Anna Sanford, “Effect of pH on Survival and Growth of Enterococci;” Justin David Mann, “Antibacterial Applications of Silver Impregnated Lignocellulose (SIL) Arsenic Removal from Water Using Lignocellulose Adsorption Medium (LAM);” Matthew B. Stokley, “Interferometric Measurement of the Room Temperate Viscosity of Glass;” and Sam Zipperer, “Sodium Borohydride Adsodium Borohydride Adsorbed on Silica: A Facile Reducing Agent.”

Lum T. Frundi and Pamela Nwilene-Andem are giving a poster presentation of their research paper titled “Sodium Borohydride Adsorbed on Silica: A Facile Reducing Agent.”
