The Bulldogs took on Middleburg in a Friday night game in the Dog House. Suwannee easily handled Middleburg, winning 5-1.
Left-hander Mark Radford started for Suwannee on the mound. Radford pitched six innings giving up one run. Daniel Tillman came in to relieve Radford in the seventh.
Ross Aretino kept alive the Dogs’ home run streak with a homer in the first inning. Zack Davis got a base hit followed by a base hit by Rheed Baldwin. Matt Yanossy smacked a double to score two runs. Suwannee was up 3-0 after one inning.
In the second inning Josh Wiggelsworth walked followed by Nick Reppert with a base hit. Aretino drove in Wiggelsworth. The score was 4-0 after two.
In the top of the sixth, Radford gave up a home run to Middleburg for their only score of the evening.
In the bottom of the sixth, Gabe Galloway bounced one over the pitcher’s head to get on base. Austin Brewster playing designated hitter wailed one by the third baseman. With two outs, Wiggelsworth doubled. Brewster was able to score with a great deal of hustle. That made it 5-1 which was the final score.
