Jim Davis, Democratic candidate for governor, has appointed Rhett Bullard of White Springs as the Hamilton County chair to lead local campaign efforts.

“I am honored that Rhett has agreed to donate his talent to build our campaign organization in Hamilton County. It’s because of the commitment and hard work of people like Rhett that we’ll win this race and bring the kind of change that’s desperately needed in Tallahassee,” Jim Davis said.

Bullard works with the Florida Democratic Party and the Florida Mainstream Democrats organizing and mobilizing Democrats in north central Florida.

Before graduating from Florida State University, Bullard was inducted into the college’s Gold Key Hall of Fame. He was president of the student body at Stetson University College of Law, where he graduated in 1999. He also received the university’s highest honor, the Walter Mann Award.

Bullard worked as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Democratic State Senator Richard Mitchell’s successful election bid in 1998. He has served as the President of the Third Judicial Circuit Bar Association and the President of Suwannee Valley Community Coordinated Child Care, Inc.

The Hamilton Educational Foundation recently inducted Bullard into the Hamilton County High School Hall of Fame for his commitment to public education and community involvement.

Bullard practices general civil law and has offices in Live Oak and Lake City.
