Andrea Lynn McGrew

Andrea Lynn McGrew, age 58, of Jasper, Fla., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Andrea was born Nov. 28, 1947, in Kearney, N.J., and lived for a time in Fort Lauderdale. She moved to the Jasper area from Atlanta, Ga., five years ago. Andrea was a retired medical records clerk and former employee of the Jasper News. She was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George McGrew, Jasper, Fla.; one son, David Koda, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter, Debra Simone, Hollywood, Fla.; seven stepchildren, Myles, Brian and Patrick McGrew, Colleen Carrol, Shawn Perez, Erin Bland and Megan McGrew; nine grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. The family will received friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday just prior to the service at the funeral home.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

Annie Anderson

Annie Anderson, 57, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2006. She was born on Jan. 2, 1949 in Mineola, Ga. She received her high school education from West Side High School. She was a member of Christ Gospel Holiness Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Baker Sr., Annie Lee Baker and her sisters, Lilly Pearl Bell and Mary Francis Baker.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Mary Willis (Joshua) of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Joseph Walker (Lacrecia), Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren, Kamisha, Joshua III, Justin, and Jarvis of Orlando, Fla.; one great-grandson, Joshua Way Willis IIII of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Laverne Graham (Yulee), Roser L. Daniel (Min. Harvey Daniel), all of Valdosta; two brothers, Bobby Baker of Denver, Colo. and Joseph Baker of Valdosta; two sisters-in-law, Mary Baker of Jonesburg, Ga., Annie C. Baker of Valdosta; two aunts, Chatrine McBride of Valdosta, Hattie Mae Baker of Lake City, Fla.; one uncle, Jake Atkin of Valdosta; two loving friends Gracie Craig of Atlanta, Pam of Orlando, Fla.; a number of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. today, April 28, 2006 at Harrington Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church were Pastor Bernard Robinson is the Pastor and will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Rest Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home

Joe Boughton, Sr.

Joe Boughton, Sr., 83 of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born on Aug. 7, 1922 in Indianapolis, Ind., he was the son of the late William and Mary McGinley Boughton. He retired from ITT having worked in purchasing and management. Mr. Boughton was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and was a long time member of the Country Club and Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Boughton of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Jr. and Marilyn Boughton of Alpharetta, Mike and Teressa Boughton of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kelly Boughton, Joe Boughton III both of Alpharetta, Jennifer and Billy Okuma of Morrow; great-grandchildren, Alana Okuma and Kendall Okuma both of Morrow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Pieplow officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Christopher Shawn Criswell

Christopher Shawn Criswell, 22, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in Cook County as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on Sept. 27, 1983 in Lowndes County and worked for Lane Trucking Supply.

Mr. Criswell is survived by his father, Neal Criswell; mother and step father, Brenda and Lester Bunte; sister, Crystal R. Criswell; brother-in-law, Michael L. Demaranville; grandmothers, Marcia Criswell, all of Valdosta and Lila M. Bunte of Hahira; maternal grandfather, Robert L. Dorminey of Valdosta; two nephews, Kenny Ecker and Tyler Bunte; one niece, Stormy Bunte; many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, John H. Criswell and Larry D. Bunte and his grandmother, Christine Dorminey.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the graveside in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mary Smith Roberts

Mary Smith Roberts, 84, of Valdosta passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2006. She was born on Jan. 22, 1922 in Charleston, S.C. She was a faithful housewife and also a faithful member at Our Daily Bread Gospel Tabernacle, where she served on the mother’s board. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dec. Damon Roberts, her mother Bessie Smith, George Smith (father), and Herbert Lee Roberts (son), six brothers and three sisters, Taft Smith, Robert Smith, Willie T. Smith, W.T. Smith, Ossie Lee Smith, Jewel Smith, Bennie Mae Griffin, Ida Ishmeal, and Martha Jackson.

Mother Roberts leaves to cherish her memories four daughters and four sons, Mae and Bishop Horace Brown of Statenville, James Roberts (Julia), Arletha (Pastor Arthur Waymon), Mary Ann Brown (Bobby), Min. Waymon Roberts (Wilma), Norma Jena (Rev. J.L. Brown), Melvin Jerome Roberts (Lilly) and Min. Roger Roberts (Tina). Ex daughters-in-law, Jeanette and Jeanice Roberts; 33 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alma Roberts of Valdosta, Queen Ester Holmes of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one brother, Herbert Smith of Valdosta; one special nephew, Bob Robinson, and also a host of other relatives and friends.

Sybil Smith Williams, age 81, of Jasper, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006, in Lake City, Fla., at the home of her daughter following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at Jasper Church of God. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper.
