VALDOSTA — With eyes closed, you lay on a soft bed, relaxed, in a room filled with the sounds of peaceful music and a refreshing aroma. As soft hands work their way through the knots in your shoulders and neck, stressful deadlines and tension from screaming kids quickly melt away. You think you are in heaven, right? It may feel like heaven on earth, but it is really the experience that can be found at Lemongrass Day Spa — Valdosta’s newest location for a spa getaway.
Inside the beautiful white house with a wrap-around porch, one forgets that the spa actually lies on the busy corner of Patterson Street and Northside Drive. The ambiance carries you away to a peaceful place where stress is obliterated.
Walls and decor in organic colors create a paradise of green, beige and maroon. Interior design adheres to an earthy, modern style. Room after room is decorated with the perfect accents and colors to provide attractive storage of necessary spa items and add to the unique atmosphere.
Owners Michelle Lamb and Marla Brettel opened Lemongrass Day Spa because they wanted to bring a resort-style spa to the Valdosta area. Their clients even have resort-style robes to use during their pampering sessions.
It was named after lemongrass, an ingredient in many of the spa’s products that has a soothing aroma and is good for aiding many body discomforts.
They wanted to offer exceptional service and treatments that could not be found in Valdosta, such as the combination locker room and custom-built steam room, the hydrotherapy bath with essential oils, European reflexology based pedicures, couples massage and the celebrity favorite, synchronized massage where two therapists treat the entire body with intense relaxation massage techniques.
Skilled employees work magic on sore muscles and suffering skin in a peaceful, softly lit atmosphere filled with good energy. A spa attendant is available to bring drinks and even lunch to clients who are indulging in relaxation treatments.
Statement from the owners:
“There are moments when the mind surrenders to the soul, when time stands still and the body travels into a state of total relaxation and of well-being. At Lemongrass Day Spa, these moments are every day.”
