Audrey Bennett
Audrey Bennett, 88, of Enigma (West Berrien) passed away Monday, May 15, 2006 in Berrien County Hospital.
She was born on April 16, 1918 in Berrien County to the late James Harvey and Ella West Gray. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Retha Bennett.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Olem Bennett of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Waunell and Garvie Nichols of Enigma; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Bennett, Douglas, Ronald and Ruth Bennett, Nashville, Laverne and Peggy Bennett of Enigma; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Ellis of Tifton; and three brothers, Luther Gray of Tifton, Carroll Gray, Cullman, Ala., Gene Gray of Enigma.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Connell, the Rev. Bobby Fussell, and the Rev. Johnny Guy officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.

Claude Thomas Pope
Claude Thomas Pope, 80, of High Springs, passed away Sunday, May 14 2006 in the Veterans Medical Center in Lake City, Fla. He was born in Norman Park, Ga. to the late William F. and Dora Jane Alderman Pope and had lived in High Springs, Fla. for the last 30 years. Mr. Pope retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of Service. He loved yard work, fishing, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Pope, Seattle, Wash., Bobby Pope, Texas ; sister, Virginia Martin, Lake Park; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 4 p.m. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. George Simmons
George Simmons, 75, of Nashville passed away Monday, May 15, 2006 at Berrien County Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1930 in Berrien County to the late Shafter Daniel and Myrtice Eula Moore Simmons. He was retired from Nashville Mills and Chaparral Boats and was also a mechanic who loved working on foreign cars and hot rods. He was an Army veteran who fought during the Korean Conflict. He attended Nashville Church of God.
He is survived by four daughters, Barbara and Daniel Hillhouse, Sonja Bonham, Sheila White, Amanda and Russell Vickers, all of Nashville; two sons, Earl Wayne and Rhonda Simmons, Jimmy Simmons, all of Nashville; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Estelle Tripp, Sanford, N.C., Elizabeth Miller, Jacksonville, Fla.; and one brother, Don Simmons of Nashville. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Simmons and two brothers, Max Simmons and James Simmons.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 in Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Lawson and the Rev. Willie Heath officiating. William (Willie) L. Myers
William (Willie) L. Myers, 65, lifelong resident of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on July 6, 1940 in Valdosta he was the son of Johnye Myers and the late Laura Copeland Myers of Valdosta. Mr. Myers was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Economy Wrecker Service for over 40 years.
Other survivors are his wife, Glenda Gay Myers of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Robert Stegeman, Amanda and J. R. Roberson, Annell Register all of Valdosta; sons, Jason Myers of Savannah, Lee Myers of Pinetta, Fla.; grandchildren, Taylor, Tiffani and Tyler Stegeman, Alexia and Lane Myers, Cody Oretega, Trent and Casey Register; his parents, Johnye and Betty Baker Myers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Brenda Myers of Sarasota, Fla., David and Kay Myers of Midway; sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Phil Clark of Marietta; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen and Vicki Gay of Dublin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Tommy Godwin of Reidsville, Bridgett and Stephen Komorowski of Glen Ridge, N.J.; a special relative, Curtis Sims and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dasher Cemetery. Mrs. Olive Ward, 78, of Lydia Street Adel passed away May 14, 2006 at Memorial Convalescent Center of Adel. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Bonne-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South.
