VALDOSTA — Funds are being raised Friday and Saturday across from Home Depot on Norman Drive to benefit Valdosta’s Adopt-a-spot, Sow-a-Seed Program.
“This event is being held to raise funds and actively educate and involve the entire community in our community revitalization program,” James Wright, said.
The Adopt-a-Spot, Sow-a-Seed Program works by bringing together community members, businesses and organizations in an effort to help solve Valdosta’s litter and trash problems. The goal of the program is to transform littered areas into aesthetically pleasing areas with landscaping and artwork.
The Grill Team will be cooking barbecue throughout the weekend event and local churches, clubs, schools and organizations will be providing entertainment Saturday. Barbecue sack lunches will sell for $5, whole Boston Butts will sell for $25 and 4-pound Slab Ribs will sell for $25.
