Dr. Mickler celebrates 50th anniversary of medical school graduation

Although, Dr. Frederick Mickler Jr. is now retired, he is still known as the family doctor to many people in Hamilton County. He came to Jasper in 1958 and treated illnesses, mended broken bones and delivered over 900 babies before retiring in 2002. He continues to serve as the Hamilton County High School Trojan football team doctor.
Dr. Mickler was recently honored by the American Medical Association (AMA) for the 50-year anniversary of his graduation from medical school.
“The AMA congratulates Dr. Mickler on 50 years of dedication to the medical profession,” said Michael Mayes, MD, MBA, executive vice-president and chief executive officer of the AMA. “This anniversary is a milestone worthy of recognition and we sincerely thank him for his commitment to this great profession.”
Dr. Mickler and his wife, Beverly, have six children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
