Volleyball coach Jerry Tyson had to be pleased with the turnout for volleyball tryouts this past week. The Lady Hornets have gotten right to work, and need to do so quickly since they begin the season Monday in the home gym, and will finish the week playing three matches.

The ladies junior varsity team will be coached by Sonja Land, who will also assist Coach Tyson with the varsity team.

All junior varsity matches will begin at 5 pm with varsity action to follow scheduled for 6:30 pm. Come on out to the home gym this Monday to kickoff what is sure to be an exciting 2006-07 sports campaign with Dixie County being first up on the schedule.

Mayo will be looking to improve on their third place finish in the statewide Dodge Sports Award.
