Larry Carver of White Springs announces his bid for re-election to the office of School Board for District 4.
Carver points to his years of experience and accomplishments on the School Board for the past eight years. He is a certified School Board Member and received accreditation from the Florida School Board Association as a Master School Board Member. In addition, to this prestigious certification, he has worked very hard to insure quality education and accessible education for all the students of Hamilton County.
Carver points with pride to the fact that South Hamilton Elementary School obtained a grade of “A” for the 2005-2006 school year and made 100% Adequate Yearly Progress. Also a source of pride is the $198,000 Historic Preservation Grant to restore the school roof and historic auditorium. Work will begin soon on these projects.
Carver stated that “the hard work of the staff, students, and community have all made SHE an ‘A’ school, and we hope to educate students at the historic facility for many years to come.”
A native of White Springs, Carver attended SHE School through eighth grade and graduated from Hamilton County High School in 1974. He is employed at PCS, White Springs. He is married to the former Carolyn “Libby” Witt. They have three children – Daniel, Laura, and Lars – and two grandchildren.
“I will continue to strive to serve the people of Hamilton County and District 4 to the best of my ability, always remembering that the students are our primary beneficiaries. We are in the business of education for the students. I ask for your vote and support in the Sept. 5 Primary.”
