Stephen Allen Whitney
Stephen Allen Whitney, 48, of Lake City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at Brooks County Hospital after a brief illness.
He had lived in Lake City, Fla., for the past 20 years where he worked as a forester for the Florida Division of Forestry, was the owner of R.C. Wood, Inc., and was a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Whitney of Lake City, Fla.; one son, Billy Whitney of Lake City, Fla.; mother, Jean (Fritz) Runck of Cleves, Ohio; mother-in-law, Charlotte Collins of Quitman; sister-in-law, June (Phil) Furney of Quitman; two sisters, Barbara Taylor of Kentucky, Kim Dryer, Indiana; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, in Columbia Cemetery in Quitman with the Rev. John Newsome and the Rev. Charles Knight officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m.

Andrew (Andy) Kinard
Andrew (Andy) Kinard, 77, of Valdosta, died on Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born in Valdosta on July 9, 1929, he was the son of the late P.K. and Blanche Kinard. Mr. Kinard was a veteran of the the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was an insurance adjustor and a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
An active member of the BPOE No. 728 Elks Club, he was twice Exalted Ruler and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. He served as treasurer and secretary of the Elks for a number of years and served on the Board of The Elks Aidmore Children’s Home. Mr. Kinard was a Mason, St. John the Baptist Lodge No. 184, a Shriner, president of the local Shrine Club and a Jester. He was Potentate of the Hasan Temple. Mr. Kinard managed and participated in the Top Hats Band which toured the Southeast.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Edith Kinard of Valdosta, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy K. and Frank Dallas of Lake Park; daughter, Cindy Kinard of Valdosta; grandchildren, Andrea Sale of Lake Park, Lauren Dallas of Lake Park, Tyler Dallas of Lake Park; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Hallie Sale of Lake Park; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernice and Russell P. Wise, Doris Gribbons of Louisville, Ky.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alec and Betty Gribbons of Louisville, Ky., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Lynwood Davis and members of the Elks Lodge will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside.
