During the Christmas festivities at the Mayo Town Park on Saturday, Dec. 9, everyone who was there was able to get a glimpse of the changes taking place. Linda Cone, of Mayo Town Hall, said the renovations to the park should be completed very soon.
When construction has been completed, there will be restrooms, a walking trail, a parking lot, and two pavilions. The gazebo was part of the renovation and was ready for use on Dec. 9.
Mayo Town Hall is very excited about the improvements being made to the park that will make it more attractive and useful They hope these changes will encourage more people to come to the park and put it to good use now, and in the years to come.
The face-lift to the park is being handled by Brae Construction of Mayo and is funded by the FRDAP (Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program) grant at a cost of $200,000.
