White Springs couple involved in car accident in Lake City

Edwin C. Critchlow and Lana P. Critchlow, both of White Springs, received minor injuries in an accident on Sunday, Dec. 10, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

Edwin Critchlow was driving a 2004 Ford F150 east on CR 252 in Lake City, the release states. Lexly J. Lee Jr., 18, of Lake City was traveling south on SW Birley Ave. in a 1989 Oldsmobile. He stopped at the intersection of Birley and CR 252 and then proceeded through the intersection into the path of the Critchlows’ truck.

The front of the Critchlows’ truck struck the right side of Lee’s car, which spun around counter clockwise and stopped facing south east on the eastbound shoulder of CR 252, according to the release. The Critchlows’ truck turned clockwise and stopped on the east shoulder of CR 252.

Lee was transported to Shands of Gainesville with serious injuries, the release states. His passenger, Lexly J. Lee Sr., 39, was also transported to Shands of Gainesville, with critical injuries. There was $3,000 damage to the car.

Both of the Critchlows were transported to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the release. There was $8,000 damage to the truck

Charges are pending investigation, according to the release.
