A school bus carrying three children was involved in a minor accident near the town of Day. The accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, occured at the intersection of Highlands and Juniper south of CR 53, at approximately 4:30 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 18. The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reported no injuries.

There were various officials and parents who were at the scene of the accident. Among those present were LCSO, FHP, Mayo Volunteer Fire Department, Lafayette County Emergency Services, and members of the Lafayette County School Board.

Fred Ward, Superintendent of Schools for Lafayette County, expressed how fortunate it was that no one was injured in the accident.
