REMERTON — A victim involved in a fight at a local bar on Baytree Place Tuesday had to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained, according to Lt. Ivan Davis with the Remerton Police Department.

At approximately 3 a.m., police responded to a call in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, they found the victim, Michael Alexander, with substantial injuries outside of the business.

A number of witnesses were present and saw the fight, according to Davis.

“The problem is, when it’s a large crowd and a big fight, there is a lot of commotion,” Davis said. “It is hard to conduct an investigation with all the commotion going on.”

Davis added that the responding officers did an outstanding job of controlling the environment and preventing any more disturbance.

“Had it not been such a quick response, it could have been much worse,” Davis said.

The incident is currently under investigation, and arrests will be pending. Davis added that a suspect in the case has been identified, and warrants are also pending following the investigation.

Alexander’s current condition is unknown, and a motive for the incident has not yet been determined, according to Davis.
