Campbell, Jane Price
Jane Price Campbell, 86, of Waynesville, NC passed away at Lake City Hospital on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2007. Born Mary Jane Price on Nov. 29, 1920 in Galivants Ferry SC, she married William Allan Campbell of Florence, SC, June 11, 1942. They immediately moved to Blountstown. Over the next 56 years, they lived in Bronson and Lake Butler, with Allan’s work with International Paper and Owens-Illinois timber companies before retiring to Waynesville, NC where she was passionate about United Methodist Women’s Mary Circle of Shady Grove Methodist Church and Meals on Wheels. In addition to raising three sons, she worked in Levy County Tax Assessor’s office and with the Union County Florida School Board until retirement. “She will always be remembered as a strong woman whose cooking reminded us that the best food does not come from the store, but from the kitchen of one who loves you, ” said her sons.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Edward Campbell of West Palm Beach; William Allan Campbell of Montgomery, AL and David Venning Campbell of Branford. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services were conducted Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Branford with Rev. Gordon Keller conducting the services. Followed by a tribute to her by son David. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway, SC.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the United Methodist Woman’s Mary Circle of Shady Grove Methodist church, 3570 Jonathan Creek, Waynesville, NC 28785.
Daniels Funeral Home of Branford was in charge of local arrangements.
