Hahira

Bessie Mae Keel McLean

Bessie Mae Keel McLean, 96, of Hahira, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Toombs County, in 1910 to the late Irvin Franklin and Rosa Mae Keel, she had lived in this area for the past 80 years. Mrs. McLean was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Dot and Terry Hall of Hahira; a son, Daniel G. McLean, of Hahira; seven grandchildren, Andy Hall of Hahira, Lydia (John Giffin) Hall of Greenback, Tenn., Adam Hall of Hahira, Tracy (Michael) Wellman of St. Augustine, Penny (Gary) Nowell of Lake Park, Susan (Martin) Hardy of Muscle Shoals, Ala.,and Roland (Anna) Hall of Atlanta. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Andrea (Jay) Roberts of Hahira, Trey Hall of South Carolina, Hanna Hall, Lillian Hall and Amelia Hall, all of Augusta; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. McLean was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lane McLean, and two sisters, Fae M. Hall and Lalia Iris McLean.

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. McLean at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. Clyde Stokes and the Rev. Skip Van Nuss will officiate. Grace D. Redding

Grace D. Redding, 91, of Hahira, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. She was born on March 10, 1916, to the late O.O. and Mattie Taylor Hall. She was a homemaker, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Redding is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, John Lawton Redding and Elton and Jean Redding of Hahira; three grandchildren and their spouses, Scottie and Thena Redding, Mindy and Rob Zaepfel and Joseph Maurice and Brandie Redding; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Orcutt Redding, Brianna Redding, Kenneth Redding and John Elton Redding; and one sister, Mildred Rowntree of Hahira. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice K. Redding, three brothers, Fauley Hall, Foster H. Hall, Odford Hall, and one sister, Mattie Bell Snow.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Shiloh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Hurley and the Rev. Ken Morgan officiating. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Nashville

Wanda Kaye Tyler

Wanda Kaye Tyler, 56, of Nashville died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Berrien County Hospital.

Born Jan. 22, 1951, in Tift County, she was the daughter of Lorenzo Tyler and Minnie Lott, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.

Survivors are two sons, Kevin Norman, Adel, Doug Norman, Macon; four grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Noah and Katie; and a brother, Troy Tyler, Norman Park.

The family will honor her request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.





Valdostaa

Billy West Coppage

Billy West Coppage, 71, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Shands in Gainesville, Fla., from a sudden illness. Born in Hahira, on February 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Lessie and Maudie Biggles Coppage. Mr. Coppage was a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant. He was a member of the Forrest Park Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Ruby Greene Coppage; daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina and Franklin Bailey, Selina and Glenn Sturgis, Satrina and Scott Plyler; seven grandchildren, Jarod Bailey, Travis Bailey, Brittany Black, Bobbie Black, Billijean Black, Morgan Plyler, Austin Plyler; brother, Orrie Coppage, sisters, Rubye Boyle, Wanda Dickerson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Terry Broome, Mr. Jason Roberts and Mr. Ray Joyner will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Georgia Christian School in memory of Billy West Coppage.
