VALDOSTA — Before hospitals build communities, they build trust. That’s the message with the 2007 National Hospital Week theme, “Care You Count On, People You Trust.” The event theme is the centerpiece of a promotional campaign aimed at uniting healthcare facilities across the country during the week of celebration.

“National Hospital Week, first and foremost, is a celebration of the people,” said James McGahee, CEO of South Georgia Medical Center. “We are extremely proud of each member of our staff, and we recognize the important role they play in extending a sense of trust to our patients and our communities.”

The SGHS Annual Service Awards Banquet, held Thursday, May 3, recognized and rewarded employees who have attained 10 years or more for their outstanding years of service. There will be a separate Service Awards Reception on Wednesday, May 9, to honor those who have attained five years of service. Service pins will be awarded to all 200 plus eligible employees.
