Mattie Ruth Webb
Mattie Ruth Webb, passed away July 12, 2007, at 2054 Beverly Drive, Valdosta.
She was born in Brooks County, Ga., on Jan. 28, 1934, to the late Mack Luther Neloms Sr. and Willie Mae Neloms. She was retired from Levi Strauss Company and was a member of Potter’s House Church of God by Faith. She was married to the late Leon Webb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Webb; one son, Darryl Webb; three sisters, Agnes Bentley, Erma R. Knight, Jo Carolyn Hodges; one brother, Mack Luther Neloms Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Windell Tyrone Webb; one daughter, Cheryl Denise Webb (Jeff), of Valdosta; six sisters, Rhondia Ponder of Quitman, Maxine Jones, Eula Butler (Robert), Alberta Brown, all of Valdosta, Claudine Robertson (Charles) of Lancaster, Del., and Shirlean Jones (James) of Elizabeth, N.J.; one brother, Elder Quainton Neloms (Irene), Valdosta; in-laws, Dorothy Harris, Annie Clark, Decatur, Gertrude Spencer, Sparta, Mildred Ball (Roland), Orlando, Fla., Alberta Sims (Johnny), Macon, William Webb, White Plains, Ga.; three grandchildren, Tyrone Cartez Webb, Steven W. Hunter, Wanakee Rashad Hunter; three great-grandchildren; one aunt; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at All Nations Deliverance Center. Elder Willie Flowers is Pastor. Dr. H.N. Turner will officiate. Burial will follow in Pallbearers Cemetery. — Godfrey Funeral Home.

Andrew Whetstone
Andrew Whetstne of Jennings, Fla., passed this life on July 11, 2007, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He was born on Jan. 21, 1982, in Jasper, Fla. He was raised in Jennings, Fla. Andrew was educated in the Hamilton School System. He was a member of the Bethlehem Church in Jennings, Fla. He loved to model with the Model Touch Company. He was preceded in death by his brother, Antonio J. Whetstone.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Sandra Gandy; stepfather, Easu Gandy Jr., both of Jennings, Fla.; sister, Tomika L. Pierce, Jennings, Fla.; stepsister, Angela Whetstone, Jasper, Fla.; brother, Quenton V. Gandy, Jennings, Fla.; grandparents, Eva M. Dye of Jennings, Fla., the Rev. Willie Clarence Lock (Mary), Gainesville, Fla., and Annie Mae Whetstone and Clady; his aunts, Jennifer White, Latonya Burkett, Wendy Lee, Mary Carlderson, Sharone Williams, Bonnie Smithwick, and Annie Lee; uncles, Benjamin F. Dye Jr., Jerry Whetstone, Jeffery Whetstone, Wayne Whetstone, Ray Whetstone, Cedric Whetstone, Thomas Whetstone, Mike Bivins; a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and sorrowing friends; and a special godmother, Evangelist Diane White.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at the North Hamilton County Elementary School. Burial will follow in the Sasser Landing Cemetery. Bishop Webb will officiate. Eardell Roseberry Weldon
Mrs. Eardell Roseberry Weldon of Lakeland, Ga., passed this life July 18, 2007. She was born on June 6, 1934, to the late Will B. and Millie Roseberry. She was an active member of the Greater Bethel AME Church where she served all her life. She was a graduate of the Lanier County School System. She was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Lee Weldon of Lakeland, Ga.; five daughters, Barbara Adams (Howard) of Lakeland, Rose Fox (Maurice), Susan Johnson (Arthur), both of Valdosta, Cheryl Bailey (Mitchell) and Jenita Thomas (Stanley), both of Hinesville, Ga.; two sons, Jimmy Lamont Weldon of Valdosta and Gregory Weldon of S.C.; one sister, Joan Evans of Philadelphia, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Marie Carter Gates of Palatka, Fla. and Shirley Williams of Ray City, Ga.; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Green (Walter), Annie Pearl Lawton (Michael), Annie Jewel Charles (Willie), Joann Houston (Willie) and Janice Nelson (Willie); six brothers-in-law, J.C. Weldon (Viola), J.E. Weldon (Barbara), Willie James Weldon (Sandra), Tom Weldon (Dorothy), Harry Weldon (Mary) and Jerome Weldon (Mary); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at the Greater Bethel AME Church in Lakeland, Ga. The Rev. Evans Williams is the Pastor and the Rev. Roshelle McCrae will officiate. Burial will follow in Charles Knight Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home.

Paul L. Parrish
Paul L. Parrish, 72, of Ray City, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at his home. Born in Adel on Oct. 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Parrish. Mr. Parrish was retired owner of Parrish Monuments. He had served on the Lowndes County Zoning Board of Appeals and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Cuba Rogers Parrish of Ray City; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Jack Arnold of Ocala, Fla., Vicki and Tony Franks of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Becky Parrish of Valdosta; and daughter, Angel Alger of Macon; 11 grandchildren, Nicki Goble, Stephanie Carter, Heather McTaggart, Amber McTaggart, Annie Arnold, Talon Franks, Tori Pittman, Ryan Parrish, Ansley Parrish, Cyrus Parrish, Brent Biles, Dean Alger; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Bell and Joe Resta of Adel, brother, Carlton and Jeanette Parrish of Thomasville, Delores and John Mainor of Adel. Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by brothers, Randall Parrish, Wodell Parrish and Carey Parrish, and sisters, Myrtle Metts and Dorothy Pilcher.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Willis, the Rev. Rick Stevens, and the Rev. Ricky Pilcher officiating. Burial will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens in Nashville. Bertha Bell Stephens Mabry
Bertha Bell Stephens Mabry, 95, retired housekeeper, of Valdosta, Ga., entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Haven Hospice of the Lakes, Roberts Care Center, Palatka, Fla. She was a native of Lumpkin (Stewart County), Ga., born March 17, 1912, to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stephens. She was educated in the Terrell County, Ga. School System. Mrs. Mabry was a Valdosta resident since 1945 and was a faithful member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from the El Carlo Motel and was an avid cook. Mrs. Mabry relocated to Palatka two years ago to reside with her daughter and son-in-law due to health reasons. She is preceded in eternal rest by her parents, husband, David Mabry, Sr., son, Arthur Reid, and four sisters and six brothers.
To cherish her memories, devoted daughter, Brenda (Minister A.D.) Bivins, Palatka; beloved sons, David Mabry, Jr.; Henry T. (Katie) Mabry, both of Valdosta; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.
Homegoing services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Valdosta, Pastor William Morgan, Eulogist. Interment will be held in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta.
