A man charged with aggravated manslaughter in the drowning of a 2-year-old entered a not guilty plea in Circuit Court in Suwannee County Monday. Terry Lee Dudley is the grandfather of Bryson Scott Lee Crews, who drowned in a pond near his home in April. Crews disappeared from his home while under Dudley’s care and was found floating face down in a pond, according to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office. The child died two days later at Shands AGH.

Dudley, 46, 11068 89th Rd, was arrested in June. He was also charged with drug offenses.

Dudley’s attorney announced his plea in an arraignment hearing Monday. Dudley’s pre-trial hearing is set for Sept. 10.

Also on Monday, an attorney for Billy Ray Cason, 18, entered a not guilty plea on Cason’s behalf in the shooting death of Suwannee High student Matthew Welsh.

Welsh was at Cason’s home when the two began to engage in horseplay, according to authorities. A .22 caliber rifle, which Cason said he did not believe was loaded, discharged, striking Welsh in the head.

Cason was charged with manslaughter while armed with a weapon in June. Cason’s pre-trial hearing is set for Sept. 10.

A pre-trail hearing for two persons charged in the double murder case near Telford Springs was rescheduled Monday. Juan Gallegos Jr., 27, of White Springs, and Elizabeth Dorian Neel, 27, of Live Oak, were indicted in April on two counts of first degree murder, two counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery with a firearm. The pre-trial hearing is set for Sept. 10.

The pre-trial for Ashley Dawn Fralick, 9812 CR 49, Live Oak, was also rescheduled for Sept. 10. Fralick was arrested and charged in February with multiple counts of neglecting an elderly person.

Fralick, a former nurse at Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, allegedly denied prescribed medication to patients and falsified medical records to make it appear they had received them.
