Leacy Sherard Kent, 96, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Suwannee Healthcare and Rehabilitative Center in Live Oak, Florida following a lengthy illness. The native and life long resident of Live Oak. Florida was a homemaker and will always be remembered for being a wonderful cook, her beautiful crochet pieces and for her love of gardening. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Iris de Maupassant of Live Oak, Florida; one brother, J.W. Bland Jr. of Inverness, Florida; three nieces, Jo Alice Hall of Pensacola Beach, Florida, Rachel Howard of Live Oak, Florida and Karen Cothran of Clyattville, Georgia; three nephews, Gordon Sullivan of Orange Park, Florida, Gene Bland of Dowling Park, Florida and Jerry Bland of Pinetta, Florida; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Howard officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Harris Funeral Home, Inc. of Live Oak, Florida was in charge of all arrangements.
