55th Florida Folk Festival Nov. 9-11th

Some of Florida’s best bluegrass entertainers will perform at the 55th Annual Florida Folk Festival at Stephen Foster Folk Cultural Center State Park. The Florida Folk Festival is one of the state’s most popular heritage events because of the wide variety of entertainment and activities available. The festival was canceled in May because of nearby wildfires and rescheduled Friday Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 11.

On Friday the Tony Rice Unit, will dazzle festival audiences with a range of straight-ahead bluegrass to jazz and folk. Rice is considered one of the greatest innovators in acoustic flatpicked guitar.

Saturday evening bluegrass fans can enjoy The Peyton Brothers, who have been performing their unique style of bluegrass and folk music for over thirty years. Their musical style features vocal harmonies only a family act can deliver.

Performers for Sunday evening will include Mark Johnson and Emory Lester. These two music masters are known for delivering a powerful performance. Also featured Sunday evening will be the Aaron ORourke Trio. ORourke, the Florida Dulcimer Champion, is sure to be a show-stopping crowd-pleaser.

Advance tickets for the Florida Folk Festival are $20 per day or $40 for the weekend for adults and $25 per day or $50 for the weekend at the gate. Children under six years of age are admitted free of charge. Ticket prices for children between the ages of six and 16 for the entire weekend are $4 in advance or $5 at the gate.

The park is located on US 41, three miles from I-75 and nine miles from I-10. Gates open daily at 8 a.m.
