Fredi J. O’Steen, 63, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 after enduring a lengthy illness. She was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, but was a lifelong resident of Live Oak, Florida. Fredi was the daughter of the late JD and Myrl Strickland, both of Live Oak, Florida. She was preceded in death by her late husband Dennis O’Steen.

Fredi was a member of Melody Christian Church. She spent over 40 years in service to others as a cosmetologist in Live Oak, Florida. Fredi was a free spirited individual who loved her family and her friends. She touched many lives with her compassion and quick wit. Fredi will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Misty (Arthur) Johnson; son, Michael Landis, both of Suwannee County; step-children, Paul (the late Tammy) O’Steen and Steven (Lori) O’Steen; grandchildren, Lindsay Johnson, Colton Johnson, Zach Landis, Braxton Landis, Jessica O’Steen, Ashley O’Steen, Bryson O’Steen and Cy O’Steen; siblings, the late Frances Glattli, the late Jimmy (Debbie) Strickland, Larry (Jamie) Strickland, Jerry (Wanda) Strickland and Gary (Lydia) Strickland; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial grave side services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 18 at Live Oak Cemetery.

Daniels Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. of Live Oak, Florida is in charge of all arrangements.
