On Thursday morning June 5, 2008, Mother Beulah Mae Gray was called home. She was born on March 11, 1929, to the late Lillie Wiseman Brown and the late Nobel Gary in Kissimmee, Fla. She was preceded in death by he husband John Gray Jr., two sons, Bobby Lee Gray, and Johnny B. Gray, two sisters, Rosetta Irving, and Ruth Brown Butler, and two brothers, Mozell Brown and David Brown.

Mother Beulah Gray was a faithful and dedicated member of the Mt. Carmel Holiness Church. She worked on the usher board and mother’s board for many years. She also worked in the Valdosta City School system where she later retired. She also was a foster grandparent for the FGP Program. She also received her education in Valdosta. She was also a very loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her seven children, Mary Nell Gray of Valdosta; Bertha King (Elder Willie) of Clearwater, Fla., Marline Hayes (Tommy) of Valdosta, Eugene Gray of Valdosta, Annie Gray Felder (Willie) of Valdosta, Marti Gray-Davis of Clearwater, Fla., and Viola Fair of Valdosta; four sisters, Alberta Chandler (Ishmael) of Hollywood, Fla., Gladys Jackson, Josie Bell-White, and Queen Ester Denard, all of Hollywood, Fla.; three brothers, Samuel Brown (Magalene) of Valdosta, Roosevelt Brown of Hollywood, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, Steve, Oliver, Marquita, Ashen, Sheila, Minister Nick, Marlana, Achantis, Shakera, Stanton, Cornell, Brian, Candace, Armante, Keaton, Shamiya, Jasln, Jaslyn, Nicholas, and Johnny; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Ishmael Chandler, John Lee Gray, and Willie C. Gray; two sisters-in-law, Magalene Brown, and Pamela Gray; two devoted friends, Liza Morrison, and Louise Floyd; two special goddaughters, Norma Jean (Tippy) and Lizzie Mae; and also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We would like to thank Dr. Chiang and staff at Valdosta Dialysis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Greater Mt. Carmel House of God Saints In Christ Church. Elder David Northcutt, Jr. is the pastor and Dr. Johnny B. Straughter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. — Godfrey Funeral Home
