VALDOSTA — In the extended hot months of Valdosta, one of the best weapons one can have to combat extreme and muggy heat is a cool, refreshing place to go for a dip. Greg Turner and Jason Garner opened Southern Comfort Pools in June of 2005 to accommodate pool-seekers with the functional beauty of custom-made swimming pools.

Greg Turner said that the quality received from Southern Comfort Pools sets it apart from other pool stores and pool services.

“We focus on quality. We feel that when someone spends as much money as a pool costs they expect to have a quality product. We aim to please the customer,” said Turner.

Southern Comfort pools builds custom in-ground concrete pools.

“We offer many different features when designing a pool, for example water falls, spill over spa’s, SAM lights, swim-outs, beach entry, free form designs, salt system, cleaning system and many other options,” said Turner.

Turner said that the salt system, which is a none-standard pool feature, is a well recommended product among many customers because it provides a comfortable swimming environment, healthy swimming, requires less maintenance and costs of up keep, and is environmentally and ecologically positive.

“We both enjoy working outside and had a desire to open a business as partners,” Turner said in reference to Jason Garner. “We had numerous friends and family members wanting pools installed and found that there were often several months wait for other pool companies to get them a pool put in.”

Southern Comfort Pools, locally owned and operated, is now here to supply the Valdosta-area with quality pools in a reasonable price-range and time frame.

“We are known for being dependable and honest. We plan on being in business years from now, and we want people to know we aren’t going anywhere,” said Turner.

A: In-ground concrete pools, salt systems, and swim-outs as well as other water features.



Q: What is the biggest project you have ever completed?



A: We have completed several very large pools with multiple features. We have pools available for showing and references upon request.



Q: What are the price ranges?



A: Our basic pool begins at $23,000 and goes up from there. We base our prices on the size of the pool as well as the added features.



Q: What services or products do you recommend that customers try?



A: We recommend the salt system, which does not come standard. No more red eyes and much better for the skin.
